Support for New Muslims: FAQ

Our sessions take place on the second Friday evening of every month. 

Please note that we usually do not hold sessions in Ramadan.

Our sessions are free to attend!

However - registration is absolutely essential as we have limited spaces. It also allows us to ensure we order enough meals for everyone in attendance. All you need to do is send an email to contact@revertstogether.org in order to secure your place. 

If it is the first time you will be attending, it would be helpful if you can let us know the date of your reversion, your age, and your gender.

The sessions are designed specifically for:

1) Converts & reverts of all ages and backgrounds (regardless of how long one has been a Muslim, and regardless of whether the individual has any Islamic knowledge). Whether you have been Muslim for 1 day, 1 year, or 10+ years, the gathering will be suitable for you!

2) Non-Muslims interested in Islam

3) Family members of converts & reverts - whether the family members are Muslim or non-Muslim.

Due to the limited spaces at each session, we unfortunately cannot usually accommodate Muslims who were born / raised in the faith. If you would like us to consider making an exception, please do contact us.

We do not have a dress code. 

All we ask is that people dress modestly and respectfully for the environment (as the events usually take place inside a Mosque).

There is no requirement for women to wear a hijab if they are not comfortable to do so. 

Yes - all of our events are for both men & women!

Men and women are accommodated in the same hall. However we maintain Islamic etiquette and ask brothers and sisters to sit separately and not to intermingle except where necessary. 

Where it is possible to maintain a loose partition (i.e. a curtain / room divider), we utilise this to ensure everyone's comfort.

Yes! We provide free meals for everyone in attendance. Eating together & getting to know one another is often one of the highlights of our sessions.

If you have any allergies or food intolerances please do let us know in advance and we will be happy to try our best to cater for it.

Children of converts & reverts are welcome to attend!

However - any child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

If children are likely to be disruptive then regrettably we advise that it would be better not to bring them.

We do provide informal childcare with our volunteers, however this is only suitable for children who can sit independently of their parents. 

We must stress that even where informal childcare is provided, responsibility for the child remains with the parents at all times.

We certainly can! It is truly an honour and privilege to assist any non-Muslim in their quest to learn more about Islam. 

We are more than happy to help you on your journey at your own pace, through phone calls, emails and of course welcoming our non-Muslim brothers & sisters at our gatherings.

We are happy to answer any questions, and inshAllah (God Willing) you will find us to be honest, supportive and non-judgemental.

We have an admin-only WhatsApp group for our community. It’s the easiest and quickest way to find out about our events, as well as other events for the convert & revert community that may be taking place in and around London.

We are entirely self funded by our volunteers, friends and family.

Having said that, we are happy to accept donations - specifically towards the food expenses and the Welcome to Islam packs as these form the largest expenses. If you would like to donate, please kindly drop us an email.
